Ghostscript erstellt PostScript- sowie PDF-Dateien und bereitet diese für Bildschirmansicht und Druck auf. Auch eine Konvertierung von PostScript-Dateien in PDF-Dokumente und gängige Bildformate ist mit dem Tool möglich. Die etwas umständliche Bedienung per Kommandozeile lässt sich mit grafischen Bedienoberlächen wie GSView oder GhostView umgehen. Ghostscript harmoniert prima mit FreePDF XP zum kostenlosen Erstellen von PDF-Dokumenten.

Ghostscript now supports the PDF security handler revision 6.
The pdfwrite and ps2write (and related) devices can now be forced to "flatten" glyphs into "basic" marking operations (rather than writing fonts to the output), by giving the -dNoOutputFonts command line option (defaults to "false")
PostScript programs can now use get_params or get_param to determine if a page contains color markings by reading the pageneutralcolor state from the device (so whether the page is "color" or "mono").
Note that this is only accurate when in clist mode, so -dMaxBitmap=0 and -dGrayDetection=true should both be used.
The pdfwrite device now supports Link annotations with GoTo and GoToR actions
The pdfwrite device now supports BMC/BDC/EMC pdfmarks
Regarding the new color management for the pdfwrite device introduced in the previous release, the proscription on using the new color management when producing PDF/A-1 compliant files is now lifted.
To reiterate, also, with the new color management implementation, using the UseCIEColor option is strongly discouraged.

BugFix: Problem beim automatischen Speichern behoben

Beim automatischen Speichern konnten einige Kommandos nicht korrekt ausgeführt werden, weil es ein Problem mit Anführungszeichen gab, sodass der Kommando-Interpreter nicht korrekt interpretieren konnte.

Verbesserung: Doppelklick im Dateiexplorer optimiert

In älteren Versionen war die Drag und Drop Erkennung in der Dateiliste des Explorers zu scharf eingestellt, sodass ein Doppelklick in ungünstigen Fällen als Drag und Drop Operation verstanden wurde.
Verbesserung: Optimierungen beim Drag und Drop

Unter bestimmten Umständen und bei einigen Anwendungen gab es noch unerwünschte Effekte im Drag und Drop Bereich, sodass nicht sauber gedropt werden konnte.

Verbesserung: Starten von Ghostscript optimiert

War Ghostscript im Windows System32 Ordner installiert, dann wurde diese Version von Ghostscript gestartet, die dann aber teilweise mit der vom PDF24 Creator installierten Version nicht kompatibel war, sodass es zu Problemen beim Erstellen von PDF Dateien gekommen ist. Das Problem ist behoben.

BugFix: Crash Probleme behoben

Der PDF24 Creator konnte abstürzen, weil es noch einen unsynchronisierten Zugriff auf die Dateiicons und Dateivorschaubilder gab. Hier wurden Fehler beseitigt.
