    Oracle Database 19c (19.3) requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.30501 to be installed on the computer hosting the database.
    By default, text will not be extracted from embedded images contained in a PDF.
    PDF text extraction will be skipped for each page that is to be processed by OCR when the pixel width or pixel height exceeds the maximum image pixel dimensions supported by the Windows OCR engine.

 Highlights in this release include:

A vulnerability was identified in the way Ghostscript/GhostPDL called tesseract for the OCR devices, which could allow arbitrary code execution. As as result, we strongly urge anyone including the OCR devices in their build to update as soon as possible.

As of this release (10.03.0) pdfwrite creates PDF files with XRef streams and ObjStm streams. This can result in considerably smaller PDF output files. See Vector Devices for more details.

Ghostscript/pdfwrite now supports passing through PDF "Optional Content".

Our efforts in code hygiene and maintainability continue.

The usual round of bug fixes, compatibility changes, and incremental improvements.

(9.53.0) We have added the capability to build with the Tesseract OCR engine. In such a build, new devices are available (pdfocr8/pdfocr24/pdfocr32) which render the output file to an image, OCR that image, and output the image "wrapped" up as a PDF file, with the OCR generated text information included as "invisible" text (in PDF terms, text rendering mode 3).

Mainly due to time constraints, we only support including Tesseract from source included in our release packages, and not linking to Tesseract/Leptonica shared libraries. Whether we add this capability will be largely dependent on community demand for the feature.

PDFCreator ist ein kostenloses Programm, mit dem sich Dokumente eines jeden Windows-Programms als PDF-Datei speichern lassen. Es wird dazu als Drucker in das System eingebunden und erlaubt so die Ausgabe in eine PDF-Datei.

Die Qualität der erstellten Dokumente ist dabei ähnlich hoch wie bei den Produkten von Adobe. Zum weiteren Funktionsumfang von PDFCreator gehört eine 128-Bit-Verschlüsselung, die die Dateien vor unerwünschten Zugriffen schützt. Auch eine Bündelung mehrerer Dokumente zu einer PDF-Datei ist möglich.

    PDFCreator Terminal Server: By using the new setup command line parameter, /DeferLicensingServiceStart, the licensing service does not immediately start with the installation of the software.

Bugs fixed

    PDFCreator Custom: Some modify actions were not working.
    On slow computers, there were sometimes unwanted job duplicates in the merge view, and the application would crash when the user tried to delete them.
    PDFCreator would crash if the selected language had fewer plural forms than the system language.
    Printer mappings would sometimes disappear when settings were loaded from an ini-file.

Other Changes

    The printer view has been redesigned for enhanced performance and usability.
    When using user tokens, users are notified immediately if the corresponding action has not been enabled.
    The “Modify” option in the Windows installed application list was removed because it was functionless.

Transfer functions have often been (ab)-used to invert images, and many PDF creators use them when writing softmask images. We have added support for this case only.
    Box drawing characters added to fonts for HTML and plain text documents.
    Write more compact PDF files (removed some unnecessary whitespace).
    Improved selection behavior for non-axis aligned text.
    Improved heuristics for detecting the logical and visual order of RTL text in PDF.
