Toolbox: Webview2 wird nun anstelle des IE für die UI eingesetzt

Der IE als Rendering Engine wurde durch Webview2 abgelöst. Webview2 ist Chrome basiert, moderner und bringt viele Vorteile. Mit dieser Änderung haben wir nun viele neue Möglichkeiten bei der Verbesserung der UI und können aktuelle Standards verwenden. Durch die Einführung von Webview2 wurde der Installer vom PDF24 Creator etwas größer, aber dies ist es wert.

Toolbox:

Beim PDF unterschreiben Tool gibt es nun auch die Möglichkeit, eine Unterschrift per Kamera zu importieren. Diese Möglichkeit gibt es bei den PDF24 Online Tools schon länger, konnte aber im PDF24 Creator nicht eingebaut werden, weil die alte IE basierte UI dies nicht unterstützt hat. Mit der neuen Webview2 basierten UI ist dies nun möglich.

Toolbox: Ein dunkles Thema ist nun verfügbar

Bei den Online Tools gab es das dunkle Thema in der UI bereits, aber beim PDF24 Creator noch nicht. Mit der Einführung von Webview2 konnten wir das dunkle Thema nun aktivieren und verbessern. Das Thema kann über das Palettensymbol in der Benutzeroberfläche umgeschaltet werden.

Toolbox: Mehrere kleine Verbesserungen in der UI

Im Zuge der Umstellung auf Webview2 haben wir einige Verbesserungen in die UI eingearbeitet, welche das Arbeiten mit dem Programm verbessern. Weitere Verbesserungen werden in nachfolgenden Versionen folgen.
Toolbox: Verwendung einer neueren PDFJS Version


PDFJS wird an vielen Stellen in der UI der Toolbox verwendet, um PDF Seiten zu rendern und darzustellen. Mit der älteren Version konnten einige PDFs nicht korrekt dargestellt werden. Durch die Einführung von Webview2 konnten wir nun eine aktuelle Version von PDFJS verwenden.

Toolbox: Limitierung der Dateigröße bei den Datei-Drop-Boxen erhöht

Die Komponente der Dateiauswahlboxen in der Benutzeroberfläche hatte eine Standarddateigrößenbeschränkung von 256 MB. Dies ist für einige Dateien zu wenig und eine größere Datei konnte nicht in das Dateifeld geladen werden. Wir haben diese Grenze jetzt auf 1000 MB erhöht.

PDFLib: Verbesserung beim Laden von bestimmten PDFs eingebaut

Uns wurde eine Testdatei übermittelt, die vom PDF24 Creator nicht gelesen werden konnte, weil diese nicht korrekt aufgebaut ist. Eine solche Datei stammt aber von einem Scanner-Programm, welches weit verbreitet ist. Für eine solche PDF Datei haben wir nun eine Erweiterung vorgenommen, sodass der PDF24 Creator eine solche PDF dennoch lesen kann.

Shell File Tools Bug behoben

Die PDF24 Dateiwerkzeuge können über das Kontextmenü von Dateien aufgerufen werden. Dies ist sowohl für PDFs als auch für andere Dateien möglich. Die Dateiwerkzeuge bieten dann Funktionen an, die Sie auf den ausgewählten Dateien ausführen können. Eine Funktion ist zum Beispiel das Zusammenführen von Dateien. In einer der Vorgängerversionen hatte sich ein Fehler eingeschlichen, der verhinderte, dass einige Funktionen auf Dateien angewendet werden konnten, die keine PDFs sind. Die Dateiwerkzeuge konvertieren normalerweise Dateien, die keine PDFs sind, in das PDF-Format und verarbeiten das PDF dann weiter. Hier gab es ein Problem. Die Konvertierung fand nicht statt und die nachfolgenden Prozesse konnten nicht korrekt ausgeführt werden. Dieses Problem haben wir behoben. Sie können jetzt z.B. wieder zwei oder mehrere Word-Dateien auswählen, PDF24 über das Kontextmenü öffnen und die ausgewählten Word-Dateien zusammenführen.



    Shell File Tools Bug fixed:

    The PDF24 file tools can be called from the context menu of files. This is possible for both PDFs and other files. The file tools then offer functions that you can execute on the selected files. Merging files is one function here, for example. In one of the previous versions, a bug crept in that prevented some functions from being applied to files that are not PDFs. The file tools usually convert files that are not PDFs to PDF format, and then process the PDF further. Here there was a problem. The conversion did not happen and the subsequent processes could not be executed correctly. We have fixed this problem. You can now e.g. select two or more Word files again, open PDF24 via the context menu and merge the selected Word files.

PDF-XChange Editor is a feature-rich PDF viewer and editor with a tabbed interface. The program includes edition of text-based PDFs, OCR of image based/scanned PDF's to fully text-searchable PDFs, full document spellchecking, rotate/crop documents, add comments/annotations to any PDF file, QR codes, and more. You can apply custom stamps from any image/PDF file/Windows clipboard, mark-up pages with text and objects, and add/edit hyperlinks.

Enabled saving a PDF document to a destination file that is a filesystem alias of the source file. Examples of such aliases include alternate network shares, symbolic link etc.
We are now reusing a stamp's appearance when the same stamp is placed multiple times on the same document.
Improved the performance of the application's start up (~20-30% faster).
Disabled autoswitching focus to the Format tab when the Stamp tool is activated.
Changed the filter rule in the HistoryView pane: now the same document can be presented in different groups simultaneously.

doPDF is a free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use. Using doPDF you can create PDF files by selecting the "Print" command from virtually any application. With one click you can convert your Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint documents or your emails and favorite web sites to PDF files. doPDF is a free PDF converter, it is not a PDF viewer. To view PDF files you will need the free Adobe Reader.

doPDF installs itself as a virtual PDF printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. Die Freeware "PDF Split and Merge" fügt einzelne PDFs zusammen und umgekehrt. Sie haben mehrere Präsentationen als PDF vorliegen und müssen daraus eine einzelne erstellen - jedes PDF in die Ursprungsdatei zurückzuverwandeln, anschließend zusammenzufügen und danach erneut zu konvertieren gestaltet sich als mühselig und zeitintensiv.

Die Freeware "PDF Split and Merge" kürzt den Prozess ab, indem es bereits existierende PDFs über nur wenige Mausklicks trennt oder zusammenfügt.

we just released the new version 4.3.0 of PDFsam Basic. We upgraded translations, bundled JDK and Sejda to their more recent versions. A number of fixes were added to Sejda but most notably we fixed:

    An issue with the Normalize page size in the Merge tool where outline and link annotation destinations may end up with wrong destination coordinates
    An issue with Tiling patterns streams that weren’t processed during the optimization process. This could lead to missing pattern resources in some cases
