doPDF is a free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use. Using doPDF you can create PDF files by selecting the "Print" command from virtually any application. With one click you can convert your Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint documents or your emails and favorite web sites to PDF files. doPDF is a free PDF converter, it is not a PDF viewer. To view PDF files you will need the free Adobe Reader.

doPDF installs itself as a virtual PDF printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. To convert to PDF, you just have to print the document to doPDF, the free pdf converter. Open a document (with Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other software), choose Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer.

The program includes edition of text-based PDFs, OCR of image based/scanned PDF's to fully text-searchable PDFs, full document spellchecking, rotate/crop documents, add comments/annotations to any PDF file, QR codes, and more. You can apply custom stamps from any image/PDF file/Windows clipboard, mark-up pages with text and objects, and add/edit hyperlinks.

The program supports export to text or image (BMP/JPEG/TIFF/PNG etc.).

PDF-XChange Viewer is a feature-rich program that displays multiple PDF documents within a tabbed interface. Edit features include the ability to rotate documents, add comments/annotations to any PDF file, apply custom stamps from any image/PDF file/Windows clipboard, mark-up pages with text and objects, and type directly on any PDF page in "Typewriter" mode. The program supports exporting to BMP/JPEG/TIFF/PNG etc., or extracting text from a PDF page/file. Additional features include capturing the document with the snapshot tool (copies an area to clipboard), measuring tools for distance, area and perimeter, and more. A recommended picture-to-text OCR plugin is available (thanks Bruce) as is a PDF help file.

Reported as functional on Mac/Linux under WINE. Alternatively, PDF-XChange Viewer Portable adjusts paths, with an OCR plugin and help file available from the website as separate downloads.

Note:

    The free PDF-XChange Viewer lacks some features present in the registered version (payware) and, while some "Pro" features can still be used, they'll add a watermark to the document edited upon saving

PDF Reader: Drop Unterstützung um PDFs zu öffnen

PDF Dateien können nun in den PDF Reader hereingezogen werden, um diese zu öffnen. Das vereinfacht das Öffnen von PDFs in bestimmten Situationen.

PDF Reader: Wortauswahl durch Doppelklick

Von anderen PDF Readern kennt man das schon: Auswahl eines Wortes durch Doppelklick. Dieses Feature ist nun auch im PDF24 Reader enthalten.

PDF Reader: Sprachauswahl verbessert

In den letzten Versionen war die Sprachauswahl im PDF Reader noch nicht so, wie wir es gerne hätte und es gab vereinzelt Probleme bei der Wahl der korrekten Sprachdatei. Hier wurde optimiert und Probleme beseitigt.

PDF Reader: Anmerkungen sind nun sichtbar

Vorherige Versionen haben Anmerkungen im PDF nicht dargestellt. In dieser Version werden die Anmerkungen im PDF nun angezeigt.

PDF Reader: Verbesserte Bildskalierung bei Icons

Der Bildskalierungsmodus für Werkzeugleistenicons und Mauszeiger ist nun BICUBIC. Dies führt zu einer besseren Bildqualität auf verschiedenen Bildschirmen.

PDF Reader: Verkleinerung des Info-Bar Schließen Icons

Das Schließen Icon in der Info-Bar war etwas zu groß, was auf Probleme bei der Skalierung mit unterschiedlichen DPI-Stufen zurückzuführen war. Hier wurde verbessert und das Icon ist nun auf allen Bildschirmen gleich groß.

Der Textauswahlalgorithmus wurde im Hinblick auf ein besseres Benutzererlebnis verbessert. Es werden mehr und bessere Heuristiken verwendet, die die Textauswahl im Vergleich zu vorher verbessern.

Einige Cursor-Bilder haben uns noch nicht gefallen und hier haben wir nun schönere Bilder im Einsatz.

PDF Reader: Zoom-Scroll Verhalten verbessert

Ebenfalls wurde das Zoom-Scroll Verhalten verbessert. Für eine bessere Benutzerfreundlichkeit wird nun auch die X-Achse automatisch gescrollt, wenn gezoomt wird. Dadurch muss man nun seltener manuell nachjustieren.

Updater: Kleinere Verbesserungen

Beim Updater haben wir kleinere Verbesserungen vorgenommen, um bei der Auslieferung und Auswahl von Updates selektiver sein zu können. Dies gibt uns mehr Spielraum bei der Updateverteilung.
