Tixati is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that uses the popular BitTorrent protocol.  This protocol allows many peers to form a cooperative swarm and download very large files with great efficiency.

Klein, zuverlässig, angenehmes Interface: vielleicht war es die Kombination aus diesen Dingen, die den µTorrent-Client so beliebt gemacht haben. Während ich persönlich das Gefühl habe, dass die ganz großen Zeiten für Torrents gelaufen sind, denke ich dennoch, dass es immer noch genügend Menschen gibt, die dort unterwegs sind. Für dieses Klientel wird es vielleicht schön zu hören sein, dass µTorrent nun auch seinen Weg auf die Androiden gefunden hat.



Wir bekommen hier einen vollwertigen Client mit all seinem Funktionsumfang geboten, Fans der Plattform müssen also auf ihre Torrents weder auf Tablets noch Smartphones verzichten.

Aktuell ist der Client und auch eine Remote-App in der Beta-Version bei Google Play zu haben. Beide Apps sind kostenlos, aber das “currently free” in der Beschreibung deutet darauf hin, dass das nicht immer so bleiben muss. Wer Interesse hat, sollte sich den Client vielleicht lieber direkt auf sein Smartphone oder Tablet ab Android 2.x schaufeln. Und Freunde: vergesst nicht eurer Datenvolumen – vielleicht also besser nur im WLAN-Netz nutzen, falls ihr nicht über Daten-Flatrates verfügt
