ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Darktable is an open source photography workflow application and RAW developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.

Typically, modern computer users have large collections of images in various formats. And then more these collections, then more likely to have the large number of duplicates. The natural desire of the user is to get rid of them. However, if the collection is large enough, do this manually is a very tedious and unproductive work.

AntiDupl.NET program will help you automate this process. It can find and display duplicate images in the main graphic formats: JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, EMF, WMF, EXIF, ICON, JP2 and PSD. The comparison is based on the contents of the files, so the program can find not only almost identical, but similar images. In addition, the program can find images with some types of defects.

Apple hat auf seinem aktuellen iPhone Betriebssystem ein neues Dateiformat und Kompressionsverfahren als default eingeführt, das (auch aus Patentgründen) von vielen Bildbetrachtungs- und -bearbeitungsprogrammen (noch) nicht unterstützt wird.
Heute hat mir eine gute Bekannte ein paar derartige Bilder zugemailt, von ihrem neuen und noch nicht richtig händisch konfigurierten Gerät. Also habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Lösung gemacht.

Es finden sich zwar per Google schon einige Tools dazu, von denen aber manche hier nicht funktioniert haben, oder nur mit stark verminderter Auflösung und / oder einem störenden Wasserzeichen in der Testversion, und / oder mit einem festgelegten Ziel im persönlichen Dokumentenordner, oder nur per Webservice arbeiten.

Derlei mag ich alles nicht, und ich will dafür auch keine große Bildverarbeitung installieren.

Daher hier nun mein jüngster Fund, der immerhin ordentlich u.a. nach JPEG zu konvertieren versteht.
Allerdings klappt das nicht per Dateitypenzuweisung, sondern es muß mit drag & drop oder seinen eigenen Dialog geöffnet werden.
Dafür bleiben ggf. alle EXIF-Daten erhalten, und die JPEG-Qualität kann eingestellt werden, der Zielordner ebenso.
Allerdings ist das Programm derzeit nicht in deutscher Sprache verfügbar, in English only...

Regard3D can convert photos of an object taken from different angles into a 3D model.

To get started, simply create a new project using a name you choose. Import your pictures and go through all the available settings. It appears the larger, camera based photos will work best and multiple photos as well. We tried adding just a few but were warned it was too few photos. An annoying limitation, really. It mentioned using photos with known focal length. We had to look that one up and found it was the distance between the center of a lens or curved mirror and its focus. We're still confused.

Settings for your photo include trackball, texture, lighting, polygon mode, shading model, and more.

Regard3D is a unique app but it seems more geared towards photographers due to the steep learning curve and the basic knowledge one needs for photography.
