PngOptimizer compresses graphics files and removes extra, unnecessary data without affecting quality. It will update PNG files as well as convert BMP, GIF and TGA files to the much smaller PNG format. The program will also convert animated GIF files to animated APNG format.

Files may also be dragged-and-dropped onto the program icon or a program icon shortcut. You can also paste a clipboard image straight into PngOptimizer and get a PNG file directly.

A 64-bit version is available.

Hello Opera Users!

It’s high summer here in Norway and Poland, and our coding elves have been sunbathing so much that they’re practically smoking, so we’ve summoned them back to their computers. (As you may know, smoking is bad for elves.)

So today, we’re releasing Opera 23 Next. The biggest UI change is that we have tidied the combined search and address bar to contain just a single heart, which triggers a sub-menu for choosing to add a page to Speed Dial or to access the Stash feature or bookmarks bar.

We have also added UI elements to unblock insecure content in an otherwise secure session, and we’ve added search functionality to opera:extensions and opera:themes.

Now that the elves are back at their desks, expect something very interesting next week.
