Hi!I'm the main Opera Mail developer in the team and have been working in the Desktop-Team for a couple of years. Unfortunately no major mail changes this time, I've been working on our CVS to Git transition, but I'll be back on M2 from now on!After several months of hectic schedule to get the windows 10.50 release out, we're now going to try to get snapshots in sync again, meaning releasing on all three platforms at the same time. This time we've got some really cool stuff like font bug fixes for both Mac and Unix cowIn other news, GTK skinning has received some more attention and we'd like some more feedback on that. If you are seeing a problem in the skin, let us know, and don't forget to mention which GTK theme you use. Several widget fixes also managed to get included in time! Look at the changelog for more details about this. Also, you can expect Unite to be up and running again. Happy Friday beer :cheers:Known Issues * Mac o Some Carakan stability problems o Some stability problems on PPC o Fonts may be cut off when scrolling o Crashlogger doesn’t work for OS 10.4 ‘Tiger’ * UNIX o Several font problems still remain o Language input issues o No KDE integration o Black drop down menus for some KDE3 users o Some command line options don't work
Here is a new snapshot. As you will see from the changelog it only includes Core fixes, so if you are awaiting a specific platform or interface bug to be fixed, then this is not the snapshot that will resolve your specific issue. However, it does fix several bugs relating to connection issues, and although the list of bug fixes is not long it should fix a number of seemingly unrelated networking problems (including the dreaded "Waiting for DNS" issue). So if you were having connection issues then this is the build you have been waiting for.Feedback about connection issues, is particularly welcomed.Known Issues * Mac o Some stability problems on PPC o Fonts may be cut off when scrolling o Crash when using Opera Standard Skin (the default Mac Native is OK) o Crashlogger doesn’t work for OS 10.4 ‘Tiger’ * UNIX o Several font problems still remain o Language input issues o No KDE integration o Black drop down menus for some KDE3 users o Some command line options don't work o No PPC builds (this time)
Before we all go off to celebrate Easter Holidays, we thoughts we'd give you a few final fixes to show what we have been working on. As you can see from the changelog there are quite a lot improvements. Most of these issues are cross platform fixes, however both Mac and UNIX get a number of Widget fixes. Additionally we fixed a couple of the more annoying issues on UNIX.Please try to keep your comments on topic (i.e. about the new changes and fixes we have made, or newly discovered bugs) as it helps to gather useful feedback. For general discussions of previously reported bugs please use the forums. Thanks for the bug hunting over the holiday period! :DKnown Issues * Mac o Some stability problems on PPC o Fonts may be cut off when scrolling o Crash when using Opera Standard Skin (the default Mac Native is OK) o Crashlogger doesn’t work for OS 10.4 ‘Tiger’ * UNIX o No KDE integration o Black drop down menus for some KDE3 users o Some command line options don't work o Fonts occasionally broken (small and multi-colored)
So we have more fixes for ya. The most important ones are the fix for the nsl issue (waiting for cookie...) and the cache issue. Please take it for a spin and tell us if you find any new regs related to these fixes.Note: When discussing new issues please mention which Operating System you use, including the version (and the distribution and Desktop Environment on UNIX/Linux).Known Issues * Possible crashes with crashes when closing tabs: Let us know * Mac o Some stability problems on PPC o Fonts may be cut off when scrolling * UNIX o No KDE integration o Black drop down menus for some KDE3 users o Some command line options don't work o Problems with some font settings, resulting in narrow and multi-colored fonts on some websites o Broken keyup event (which in turn breaks keyboard shortcuts for the O Menu and tab switching)
Here is a new build with some very nice fixes for PowerPC and our initial work on KDE 4 integration. Neither is perfect but we hope that you will see that we are finally getting somewhere. :DBeing work in progress, there are some issues that you may stumble across. PowerPC users will hit a crashing bug if they try to run the Acid 3 test. However many other sites will see a vast improvement. We'd therefore encourage users to test a range of their favourite sites and submit cash logs if they hit any. KDE users should also be aware of a crash on exit.Even if you aren't interested in PowerPC or KDE we would encourage you to give the build a spin as there fixes to Core and Carakan as well.Note: As always try to keep comments on topic and don't repeat already reported bugs. Also, when discussing new issues please mention which Operating System you use, including the version (and the distribution and Desktop Environment on UNIX/Linux).Known Issues * PPC builds crash on the Acid 3 test. * Windows o Accessibility crashes and freezes * Mac o Slow domain resolution on some sites * UNIX o Problems with some font settings o No printing o Crash on exit for KDE users o Upgrading .rpm packages from prior 10.5x builds will result in broken application menus (uninstall and reinstall instead)
This build contains more NSL (Never Stops Loading) fixes, in addition to stability fixes and general bug fixing. We also have a partial IAccessible2 implementation on Windows.Note: Please ensure that your comments are on-topic and relevant, descriptive, and yet somewhat brief. Avoid repeating things. For longer comments, use the forums instead, and avoid posting images inline (use links instead). Too many off-topic comments will just prevent us from being able to read through everything, and that prevents other people's feedback from being heard. There are only so many hours in a day... :smile:Mac Known Issues * Crash on composing characters/IMEUNIX Known Issues * Problems with some font settings * Plugin MIME types without file extensions don't work * No printing * Crash on exit for KDE users
We are going for a release of Opera 10.52 on Mac and Windows soon. Linux is getting ready for their first beta of Evenes too. As you have noticed we have been trying to kill that NSL bug for a while now. We decided to revert some Cookie behavior to how it was in 10.10 to make it go away for now. So please test for regressions related to cookies/loading of pages. Please tell us if you still get NSL. Your feedback on this bug is very important.
This is RC4 of 10.52 final for Mac and Windows. It fixes CARAKAN-1144 (Frequent crashes at Facebook) and CORE-27753 (Freezing at Google Maps and dell.com).As always, try to keep comments on-topic. They should be somewhat brief, and yet descriptive enough for other people to be able to reproduce your problem. Post longer comments in the forum, and avoid inline images.
Here is a further RC5 for Windows and Mac, plus a few UNIX fixes so that you can see what the team has been working on.We welcome your thoughts, however please keep comments on-topic. They should be somewhat brief, and yet descriptive enough for other people to be able to reproduce your problem. Post longer comments in the forum, and avoid inline images.UNIX Known Issues * HTML5 video is not working * Plugin MIME types without file extensions don't work (broken Java) * No printing
