Vom Instant-Messenger Trillian Astra 4.1 steht eine öffentliche Betaversion als Download bereit. Die neue Version unterstützt einige spezielle Windows-7-Funktionen und bringt eine bessere Anbindung an Facebook und Twitter.
Trillian Astra 4.1 unterstützt die Sprunglisten von Windows 7 und zeigt im Windows-7-Tasksymbol einen Fortschrittsbalken, wenn Dateien heruntergeladen werden. Außerdem wurde die Taskleistenvorschau verbessert und im Tasksymbol wird nun der aktuelle Status angezeigt.

Die Twitter- und Facebook-Integration wurde erweitert, um mehr Funktionen der beiden Dienste direkt in Trillian Astra nutzen zu können. Einige Optimierungen gab es zudem beim Umschalten des Chatstatus sowie bei der Benachrichtigung auf neu eingegangene E-Mails.

Trillian Astra unterstützt die Instant-Messaging-Dienste Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, MyspaceIM, Google Talk, IRC und Jabber/XMPP.

Die Betaversion von Trillian Astra 4.1 steht für die Windows-Plattform als Download zur Verfügung. Trillian Astra ist in der Basisversion kostenlos, die besser ausgestattete Pro-Variante kostet 25 US-Dollar.
