    Changes since 3.7.2:

    In this major update we replaced a core part of Python's SSL handling with our own improved version. This results in large performance increases when downloading from news servers with SSL enabled.
    In addition, the general connection handling was overhauled, resulting in performance improvements for all news servers. Special thanks to: mnightingale, puzzledsab and animetosho!
    There are multiple settings that can tweak performance, see: #2474

WebChangeMonitor allows you to monitor multiple webpages tracking changes based on webpage content.

WebChangeMonitor permits you to monitor several protocols, including HTTP and HTTPS. It also lets you view and record any webpage content differences. It is essentially a hybrid RSS reader with some options not offered by strictly a reader like displaying the GUID for the webpage, for instance.

Dear all,

release 23.03 updates the core-lib (libCURL) around which WCM is built to a new major release (8.0.1). This breaks with deprecated APIs and guarantees a continuous development of WCM. It also addresses quite some security issues, btw.. Furthermore, some new features like RegEx replace and categorising log messages have been implemented. Also, a focus issue with tool-tips has been addressed.

    Persistent article/item viewer. By default it is on. If no article is selected but feed/category is, then miscellaneous information about selected feed list item is displayed. (#424)
    macOS build is now built with macOS 11.
    Linux build is now built with Ubuntu 20.04 which is now oldest supported Linux LTS distribution.
    Reworked logic of determining which article states (read/unread/starred/unstarred) have changed when synchronizing states to remote feed servers. This concerns all synchronized plugins like Gmail, Greader, Feedly, etc. and show in theory lead to much better performance when you mark many articles as read or unread.
    Couple of extra QoL enhancements for Gmail like proper encoding of attachment filenames, turned off displaying of "enclosures" as these are displayed in other way, etc.

Dear all,

release 23.05 implements quiet a lot new features, most of them requested by users. There are native OS notifications as an alternative to the custom implemented ones. Each of the meanwhile 3 notification types has its pros and cons. So just select the one that fits most to your needs (not to forget that you can define what type of notification you want to see). Also, HTTP POST is supported now making it possible to access content of webpages that use input forms and a button/action to show certain content. Additionally, tracking items with certain content has been improved a lot and you can use WCM now to obtains "histories" - e.g. prices, stock values etc. You can also plot these nicely. Finally, quite a few bugs have been fixed to close open tickets.
