Joplin is an open source note taking application that can handle a large number of notes organized into notebooks.

Notes are stored in markdown format and can be searched, modified, tagged, directly in Joplin or using any text editor. Evernote users can even import their notes.

Joplin has no learning curve. It's so well laid out that you can jump right in. Across the top, you can quickly create a new note, to-do or new notebook. You can toggle the sidebar on or off and even change the layout.

We took care of some of the top sync and crash issues that were getting in your way.
We squashed some annoying editing and note title bugs that were buzzing around inside the app.
Now you’re 100% able to rename hidden tags from the toolbar. Up from 0%, so that’s quite an increase.
We had some attachment issues related to YouTube clips, PDFs, and shared notes. But we got professional help and worked through them.
There was a problem with dragging and dropping emails from Microsoft Outlook into a note. Things should be back to normal now though.
Switching notes would cause you to lose any edits you’d made to a business card. Since you probably made those changes for a reason, we fixed it.

We tweaked the note list header to match its look on other platforms. That might not sound like much, but trust us, it was super annoying.
Now you can export a note with a missing source image (and all you see is that smug little icon instead) and import it back into your account. We’re still questioning the icon, but it refuses to tell us what it did with your image.

Date Reminder reminds you of recurring or nonrecurring events including like birthdays, bills due, appointments, or anything else. Date Reminder is portable and has an attractive black and white overall appearance with some colors used for icons but in a pleasant way.

You can right-click to start a new Reminder if you're in a hurry. However it's an excellent time to hover your mouse over the top icons to get familiar with common shortcuts including New Reminder, Find, Calendar, and List, to name a few.

In My Diary ist eine kleine Freeware, die sich hauptsächlich um Termine kümmern kann - inkl. Terminerinnerung. Zusätzlich bringt die Software noch ein Notizblock, ein Passwortmanager und -generator, sowie ein Adressbuch mit. Die Daten von In My Diary können auf Wunsch verschlüsselt werden, so das ein verlorener USB-Stick nicht ganz so ärgerlich ist. Der Im- und Export von iCalendar und vCard ist möglich, so das man seine Daten auch mit anderen Programmen synchron halten kann. Im Download ist eine Hilfedatei enthalten, die über das Programm aufgerufen werden kann.

This version is important in that it fixes a few serious bugs in the Notes section.

These are:

A financial list displayed on the left-hand note page could be deleted if the user then clicked on the diary tab.
In a financial list, if a new entry is started but cancelled, then another entry is edited the data became corrupted.
If a new Note (of any kind) was created which became the first note (alphabetically) in the list, the right-hand page (showing of course the first Note in the list) did not immediately switch to the new note. Subsequent editing of the displayed note would then corrupt the data.

Other changes:

Mouse scroll wheel has effect in certain windows - In the Diary window it turns the pages, in Contacts it moves through the records, in Calendar it moves to other years.
Dragging the main diary window (by clicking over the R/L borders) can be toggled on / off by holding down the D and R keys. If you don't need to drag the window (usually only necessary on smaller screens) then turning it off can prevent some jumping of the diary window which can occur under certain circumstances.
QIF export of Financial List data.
The hole punch guides have been redesigned and can be turned off when printing personal organizer pages.
The code which creates early warnings of repeating alarms has been improved to reduce the incidence of duplicated warnings.
In the Set Event and Edit Event windows, am/pm suffixes were still being displayed and causing errors after changing to 24 hour clock. Also, in certain circumstances, in am/pm mode it was possible to write hours greater than 12 again causing event time errors.

TreeLine is an easy to use application designed to enables you to create and manage a wide range of notes. Basically, it just stores almost any kind of information. A tree structure makes it easy to keep things organized. And each node in the tree can contain several fields, forming a mini-database.

The output format for each node can be defined, and the output can be shown on the screen, printed, or exported to html.
