Mit Active ISO Burner lassen sich ISO-Images auf optische Medien wie CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R, CD-RW, DVD-RW, DL DVD+RW, HD DVD und Blu-ray-Discs brennen. Dabei steht es dem Nutzer frei, ob er die ISO-Dateien im Hauptverzeichnis von Active ISO Burner ablegt, sie per Drag & Drop aus dem Explorer heraus auf das Programmfenster zieht oder die Datei dort auswählt. Ist die ISO-Datei als Quelle angegeben, gibt man im nächsten Schritt den Zielbrenner an und wählt einen der Brennmodi Track-at-Once, Session-at-Once oder Disc-at-Once.

Die Brenngeschwindigkeit kann Active ISO Burner automatisch ermitteln. Alternativ lässt sie sich auch manuell einstellen, was zu empfehlen ist, wenn die Daten langsamer zum Brenner gelangen, als er sie brennen könnte. Dies kann zum Beispiel der Fall sein, wenn die ISO-Datei auf einem anderen Rechner im Netzwerk liegt. Weiterhin lassen sich mit Active ISO Burner mehrere Kopien hintereinander erstellen, sodass der folgende Brennvorgang sofort nach dem Einlegen einer neuen Disc beginnt. Über die Optionen ermöglicht Active ISO Burner unter anderem Brenntests und das Überprüfen der gebrannten Daten.
