In den Chromium-Builds ist das Feature aufgetaucht, dass neben den Passwörtern nun auch sämtliche synchronisierte Einstellungen von Google Chrome verschlüsselt werden können. Ist quasi wie ein doppelter Schutz. Momentan läuft es so: bis auf die Passwörter wird nichts lokal verschlüsselt.



In Zukunft kann man eben sämtliche Daten erst lokal verschlüsseln (mit dem Google-Kennwort oder einer eigenen Passphrase) und dann zu Google wuppen – weil sicherer ist das.

The Google Chrome team is happy to announce the release of Chrome 12 to the Stable Channel for all platforms.  Chrome 12.0.742.91 includes a number of new features and updates, including:

    Hardware accelerated 3D CSS
    New Safe Browsing protection against downloading malicious files
    Ability to delete Flash cookies from inside Chrome
    Launch Apps by name from the Omnibox
