Google Chrome 5.0.375.125 has been released to the Stable channel on Linux, Mac, Windows, and Chrome Frame.

Aside from the listed security bugs fixed in Chromium, we have also deployed workarounds for two critical vulnerabilities where the root cause lies in external components. Während die fest installierten Versionen von Google Chrome in der Developer-, Beta- und Release-Version mit einem internen Updater ausgerüstet sind, ist dies bei Chromium nicht der Fall. Sofern ihr Chromium fest installiert habt, musstet ihr bisher immer die aktuelle Build herunterladen und installieren. Bisher. Jetzt hat sich jemand aufgemacht einen Updater für Chromium Builds unter Windows zu bauen.



Nach der Installation könnt ihr in Intervallen aktualisieren oder eben manuell.

Google SSL Web Search fügt Chrome Googles SSL-Suche hinzu. Es funktioniert mit Chrome 6.0419.0 oder höher. Derzeit steht die Erweiterung für Windows und Linux zur Verfügung.

Google hat ein Add-on für Chrome veröffentlicht, das Suchende auf seine mittels SSL verschlüsselte sichere Websuche umleitet. Googles sichere Suche befindet sich noch im Beta-Stadium.

Die Erweiterung Google SSL Web Search verschlüsselt Googles Websuche und Suggest. Sie ist zu PCs mit Windows und Linux kompatibel, auf denen Chrome Version 6.0419.0 oder höher installiert ist. Sie funktioniert derzeit nicht auf Macs, weil laut Google das Mac-User-Interface für OSDD-Eingaben fehlt. Auch das Add-on hat noch Beta-Status.

Es integriert Googles verschlüsselte Suche in Chrome. Nach der Installation kann der Nutzer ein Schlüsselwort für die sichere Suche festlegen - etwa ssl.google.com. Gibt er dieses hinterher in die Omnibox ein, klickt auf "Tab" und tippt einen Suchbegriff ein, führt Google die Suche über die sichere Site aus. Mit einem Klick auf die Omnibox lässt sich zudem Google SSL als Startseite einstellen.

Die Extension wurde erstmals im Juni 2010 veröffentlicht. Sie macht eine ohnehin simple Aufgabe noch simpler - eine Suchmaschine in Chrome hinzuzufügen und sie zur Startseite zu machen. Im Grunde dient sie dazu, darauf aufmerksam zu machen, dass Google seit Mai auch über eine SSL-Suche verfügt.
