Immersive Explorer is designed to be an alternative to the default file explorer included in Windows (known as Windows Explorer). Although it is not a Windows 8 "Metro application", it is designed around the "Metro" user interface guidelines. It will be optimised for touch-screens, but will offer a great experience for desktop users too (with features like scroll-to-zoom, keyboard navigation). It uses graphical hardware acceleration to display fluid animations and transitions, making it look more modern than the default GDI-based Windows file explorer.

In dem Taskscheduler legen Sie dazu die jeweiligen Programme sowie die Startzeiten oder -intervalle fest. "Task Till Dawn" ermöglicht es auch, Dateien zu einem festgelegten Zeitpunkt auszuführen. Mit diesem Freeware-Tool lassen sich Dateien in mehrere kleine Teile splitten und natürlich auch wieder zusammen setzen. Man kann die Größe frei definieren. z.b. auf 650 MB, damit die einzelnen Teile auf einen CD-Rohling passen. Das Tool arbeitet mit dem Brenn-Programm "CopyToDVD" zusammen. Wenn dieses Brenn-Programm installiert ist, kann mit KFK direkt eine CD gebrannt werden.

eSpeak liest via Sprachsynthese Texte unter Windows vor. Der Sprachgenerator der Freeware unterstützt neben Deutsch zahlreiche weitere Sprachen und speichert digitalisierte Sprachfiles als WAV auf dem Rechner ab.

eSpeak arbeitet nach dem klassischen Text-to-Speech Verfahren. Vorzulesende Texte oder XML-Dateien trägt man per Copy&Paste direkt im Programm ein. Alternativ wählt man eine entsprechende XML- oder TXT-Datei aus, die anschließend im Programm eingelesen wird. Optionen für Ausgabequalität, Stimme und Sprechgeschwindigkeit stellt man direkt in der Hauptansicht ein. Ein Mausklick auf die Schaltfläche "Speak" startet die Wiedergabe. DSpeech is a text-to-speech program with the option of saving the output to a variety of formats, great for creating audio books from text sources. It also supports dynamically changing the features of the voices eg. insert pauses, emphasize specific words, spell them out etc. using tags.

The program can import text from TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, XML, and PDF and output to MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA.

DSpeech works out-of-the-box on WinXP and above because the Microsoft speech engine SAPI5 is included by default. For WinNT/2K, you will need to install the speech engine separately. You will find links to plugins, speech engines and voice sets on the program website.
