Neu : IrfanView 3.99 (Freeware)

IrfanView ist ein prima Freeware-Bildbetrachter mit allen wichtigen Funktionen: Browser, Diashow, Konvertierungs- und Bildbearbeitungs-Werkzeuge sowie Unterstützung für mehr als 60 Dateiformate.
 
Kenner zählen die Software nicht nur wegen des Freeware-Status zu den Programmen erster Wahl. In der aktuellen Version 3.99 gibt es zahlreiche neue Funktionen und Bugfixes.

Kann über 60 Bildformate lesen
IrfanView ist zu einem Werkzeug herangewachsen, das nicht nur knapp 60 Bildformate, sondern auch die wichtigsten Audio- und Video-Dateien (WAV, AVI, MP3, OGG, MPG) und animierte GIFs lesen kann. Außerdem kann man schnell durch Sammlungen von Grafiken blättern oder eine selbstablaufende Diaschau ansehen.

Dazu kommen einfache Bildbearbeitungs-Werkzeuge, ein Grafik-Konverter und eine Scanner-Schnittstelle. Über das Menü Options/Change Language können Sie die Sprachdatei auf Deutsch umstellen.

Fazit: Diese Freeware meistert alle wichtigen Aufgaben eines Bildbetrachters tadellos und steht so den eher teuren Lösungen wie ACDSee oder ThumbsPlus kaum nach.

Version 4.22 des Bildbetrachters erschienen

Das beliebte Bildbetrachter IrfanView ist in der Version 4.22 erschienen. Als wichtigste Neuerung wurde die Produktion mehrseitiger PDFs eingeführt. Mehrere Bilder können auf einer Seite untergebracht und ausgedruckt werden.
Die neue Version 4.22 erfuhr viele kleinere Änderungen, die sehr nützlich sind. So können Kontaktabzüge erzeugt werden, die erstmals auf vordefinierten Papiergrößen ausgegeben werden können. IrfanView bildet ein oder mehrere Bilder in verschiedenen Kombinationen auf einem Blatt ab. Das erleichtert den Ausdruck und spart Papier.

Externe Editoren, mit denen die geöffnete Bilder bearbeitet werden können, lassen sich in IrfanView nun auch mit Namen versehen. Außerdem wurde die Tastatursteuerung des Programms verbessert. In der neuen Version können Auswahlvierecke mit Tasten verschoben und Rahmen mit Tastaturkombinationen erzeugt werden.

Das Plugin-Paket, das separat angeboten wurde, ist nun ebenfalls in Version 4.22 erhältlich. Der Autor hat einige Erweiterungen verändert, damit sie mit dem aktuellen IrfanView zusammen arbeiten.

IrfanView 4.22 ist für die Windows-Plattform als Download erhältlich. Bei kommerzieller Nutzung erbittet der Programmierer eine Spende beziehungsweise eine Registrierungsgebühr von 10 Euro. Kostenlos ist IrfanView nur bei nichtkommerzieller Nutzung.
