Release Notes

The first x64 beta build of SmartDVB is now available for download. The build includes an initial port of channel listing and epg to unicode. The epg database smarteit.db has been modified to allow for full UNICODE EPG/EIT support. Other than that the x64 build uses the same baseline code as the 32 bit version and hence the feature set for both versions should be about the same. Care has been taken to support most of the legacy application functionality, including blindscan and plugins.
This version also improves video quality and error recovery, including better 4:2:2 handling/processing.

The build is not provided as an install but as a portable .zip archive. The installation process is simple.
-Just extract the archive and register the included filters
-Run filters\registerfilters.bat with administrator priveleges (for example by right clicking on the registerfilters.bat and selecting 'run as administrator' with the file explorer)
-The x64 build requires x64 decoder versions (both video and audio), previously installed 32 bit versions of decoders will not be seen by the 64 bit version, so please make sure the appropriate x64 versions of the codecs you wish to use with the x64 build are installed.

The 64 bit executable SmartDVB.exe should now be runnable.

It is not required to install the 32 bit version alongside the x64 version, the two versions should run independent of one another.

Please note device support for the x64 build is limited for some devices, not all (legacy) device manufacturers have x64 bit sdk's available. Skystar.dev is is not available so technisat skystar devices will not be fully functional. Tevii devices will also only, possibly, work with the tevii (bda) device type, the tevii.dll required for the sdk is also not available as a x64 dll.

Hi JJ,
I installed the x64 version as portable version on a system with cascaded switches. Astra 192 scanning worked fine and everything looked ok. However, I could not scan any other sat. When i changed to 130 in the settings, 192 was again scanned. The last update was used. My impression is that diseqc execution seemsd faulty. Also, the diseqc console did not move the dish. What should I do?

Tevii device support is limited. The tevii.dll required for the sdk is not available as an x64 dll, so please make sure tevii bda is selected when using the bda.dev module. Alternatively you could try bdas.dev for tevii. Ill see about disabling known not working device settings for the final x64 release.

thanks for your support. Bad luck, bdas also does not work correctly with the Tevii in my setup, same problems as mentioned before. With the DVBSky S950C PCIe card, however, everything seems to be working fine.

Ok i see about the Tevii. I don't think much can be done about it probably, besides contacting Tevii about a x64 tevii sdk dll. I'll make sure to look at the current tevii bda code for the x64 build, which uses some old bda code i once had which tried to switch using some undocumented calls, perhaps this does not work well on switches with (some) tevii devices.  Best would be to have an official sdk dll but I don't think tevii will supply one.

Do you remember or know if the 32 bit bdas.dev worked for your current tevii switch setup? Or if the bda dev tevii bda 32 bit version switches ok?

never tested the bdas.dev for the Tevii because Florian dba worked fine with the Tevii 32 bit version. There is no problem with your 32 bit version of smart, perfect  diseqC function.

Hi,
I installed the new Software. I had to register (register filter).  Now I wanted to activate another Card. This does not work. I delete all. then I loaded again. Itstill does not work so I Thing that I habe to unregister.


How can I UNREGISTER??

re dada: did you also try the bda tevii device setting (bda.dev tools > device settings > device type > tevii bda)? As mentioned if no x64 tevii.dll is provided or found it will be difficult to achieve full device support for some devices with the x64 build. I will release a 32 bit build of the current x64 version soon which should support tevii as before, after some of the bugs regarding added/changed things are ironed out with the x64 beta build.

you can unregister by creating this file unregisterfilters.bat and adding the /u command line parameter to each command now in registerfilters.bat, for example

regsvr32.exe /u "%~dp0\smartavsrc64.ax"
regsvr32.exe /u "%~dp0\smartdump64.ax"
regsvr32.exe /u "%~dp0\audiofilter64.ax"
regsvr32.exe /u "%~dp0\..\graph.dll"

run the unregisterfilters.bat also as administrator.

What exactly went wrong with activating another card ?

Hi jackjavo,

I have a DVB Sks and a TBS 2928 ( See fred DVB Sky with ci)

First card was the "dvb sky" everything works well. Then I changes to TBS 2928. Picture stand still for seconds then a short move - then don.t move etc.
I delete all and re-installed - the same problem.

I try to unregister. I tell You what happens.

Re nemo. What module did you select when starting your tbs device? If it is bda.dev, go to tools > device settings, and make sure 'tbs new interfaces' is selected. If that does not work you can also try the crazycat blindscan.dev to see if that works better.

Hello JJ,

today I finally found the time to connect 64 bit Smart portable 05.1.1 to the DVBSky card as I mentioned before. DiseqC is working perfectly with my movable dish in contrast to the Tevii. No real problems found. Scanning sats was fast but "Level" was always zero with decent "Quality", although scanning finally was succesful. The box for "Frequencies with no signal" remained empty, although there were many of course (due to S/R). A big but good surprise was that the Astra UHD channel (on Astra 4A UltraHD Demo, nothing else tested yet) was working perfectly with about 25% processor use and no stuttering whatsoever (LAV 70.2). The vp... plugin did not work, can that be fixed?

Some corrections: UHD processor load was only between 10 and 12 %. The plugin problem I solved, after reading the log, by renaming the "plugin" folder to "mdplugin". Now it is working fine but no plugins are shown clicking "plugins" on the main screen.
